A partnership between Onsite ICF and Eligible Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) and Saccos, this initiative brings together turnkey housing solutions and socially-minded funding to provide affordable homeownership opportunities.

WhY IT MATTERS

The affordable housing crisis in East Africa has reached epidemic proportions. In Kenya alone, the housing deficit exceeds 2 million units, with an annual shortfall of 250,000 new homes. Traditional “affordable” housing developments often exclude low-income earners and force families to relocate from their communities into high-rise buildings that disrupt support systems and cultural norms. The Nyumba Bora Initiative offers a different path—one rooted in community and dignity.
